Our team leader: Scotty

It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to our team leader on four paws.

After a short, serious illness, our dear Scotty has left us. He was far more than a loyal companion – with his cheerful nature, his serenity and his big heart, he enriched our everyday life and gave us many beautiful moments.

Scotty leaves a void that can never be filled. However, the memories of his loyal gaze, his loving nature, and the joy he brought us every day will stay with us forever.

We are grateful for the time we shared and will never forget you.

Goodbye, dear Scotty.

History

1920
The history of Goldsaat GmbH begins in Berlin in the 1920s. Founded as an export business, we distributed seed-seeding machines from the Neuhaus company under the brand name NEUSAAT.

1945
After the Second World War, we initially relocated our production to Solingen and later to Remscheid. Under the new name Goldsaat, we began manufacturing agricultural machinery. Our product range grew rapidly and included, among other things, the "Poppelsdorf" short wet and dry seed treatment, the "SIVO" pre-cleaner, grain cooling units, and grain dryers.

1960
From the late 1960s onward, we expanded our technology. By 1966, thousands of grain dryers from the "Continus," "Contilag," and "KTS" series were already in operation at farms and cooperatives. In 1967, we opened a new production facility in Prüm, which was continuously expanded until the 1990s. There, we developed innovations in grain conveying technology and in the production of refrigeration equipment.

1988
As one of the first companies in Germany, we integrated PLC control into our drying systems. This was considered a revolutionary innovation in drying technology and is still considered standard practice today.

1995
After a difficult economic period that led to the closure of "Goldsaat Fritz Döring GmbH" in 1995, we, Oswald Metzen, re-established the company. Under the name "Goldsaat Agrartechnik GmbH," we embarked on our fresh start and, through close cooperation with Oswald Metzen GmbH for industrial plants, were able to revive business and create a stable foundation for the future.

2007
In 2007, we built a new production hall and an administration building to further expand the company.

2013
Since 2013, we have operated under the name Goldsaat Agrartechnik GmbH & Co. KG. The owners are Ramona Bohl (née Metzen), Oswald Metzen, and partner Erwin Funk. Today we employ approximately 30 people.

2021
In 2021, our company was severely affected by the flooding. On July 15th, our factory premises were flooded, resulting in considerable damage. However, thanks to great efforts, we were able to quickly restore operations and resume production.

2025
With our new TruPunch 5000 die-cutting machine, we are able to die-cut even faster, more flexibly, and with higher quality. It's said to be the fastest die-cutting machine in the world. Perfect for us to complete your projects just as quickly, and with outstanding quality.

We are committed to doing good.

As a medium-sized company, we see it as our responsibility to support people in our region who need help. Through targeted financial support, we are committed to projects in the areas of youth and elderly care, as well as for people with disabilities – thereby sending a clear message of tolerance and compassion.

For many years, Goldsaat Agrartechnik GmbH & Co. KG has supported numerous local and international aid organizations.
